How old do I need to be to be able to drive on the roads?
The minimum age for driving on British roads is 16 years old for scooters, 17 years old for small vehicles which includes most cars.
What do I need to start learning to drive?
You will need to have a valid provisional driving licence.
How many driving lessons will I need?
The amount of driving lessons required depends on the individual, on average it will take 40 to 45 hours for a new learner driver. The DSA (Driving Standards Agency) recommends that you take 45 hours of professional driving tuition with a further 22 hours of private driving tuition.
How long is the driving test?
The driving test lasts for a minimum of 40 minutes.
Do Intensive driving courses work?
In my opinion yes as on an intensive driving course we can give you a much wider variety of experience. An assessment lesson is always a good idea to see if an intensive driving course would suit you.
What car will I do my driving test in?
You will usually use the car that you have been learning to drive in.
I am a bit nervous about learning to drive, will this be a problem?
No, driving instructors are trained to deal with nervous pupils.
How Long is a theory test certificate valid for?
A theory certificate is valid for two years.
How long do I have to wait to find out if I have passed my driving test?
You will be told the result within a minute of you finishing your driving test.
If I fail my driving test how long do I have to wait before I can take it again?
You have to wait ten working days before you can take your driving test again.
Can I start my driving lessons before I have passed my theory test?
Yes you can
Can my dad or friend teach me to drive?
As long as the person teaching you to drive has held a driving licence for more than three years they are allowed to supervise a learner driver.
How do I know when I am ready for my driving test?
Your driving instructor will tell you when you are reaching driving test standard.
Can you guarantee that I pass my driving test ?
The short and sweet answer is no, because it depends on the pupil if you are nervous you can make mistakes unintentionally therefore we do not guarantee that you will pass your driving test.
